RUDY GARCIA - Consulting Chef (English and Spanish-Language)
Rudy Garcia (CEC, AAC, CFE) is a culinary gold medal
winner and the Chef Instructor of the Culinary Arts/Food Service Management
Department on the Los Angeles Mission College campus. Before joining
LAMC in 1991, Rudy was an Executive Chef for the Hilton Corporation
and Chef Instructor with the A.B.C., Unified School District in Cerritos.
He was named "
Los Angels Chef of the Year 2006"
Rudy is an active member in a number of culinary,
hospitality and tourism related associations. He is past chairman of
the Chefs de Cuisine, Los Angeles Chapter of the American Culinary
Federation (ACF). This organization was founded in 1923 and currently
has 400 members in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area and over 25,000
members nationally. Rudy also recently served as the first Hispanic
president of this prestigious organization.
In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for
the International Food Service Executive Association, Los Angeles.
Rudy's credentials include the achievement of becoming a Certified
Executive Chef in 1985 and inducted into the American Academy of Chefs,
1994. With only around 550 members within the United States, this is
a very elite society of Certified Executive Chefs.
Rudy has been a culinary consultant to our agency
for over 15 years. He has appeared on many TV and radio shows, as well
as being featured in cooking demos at various food festivals and special
events, representing various Lee & Associates' clients, especially
for the Hispanic community
ROXANA LISSA - Spanish-Language Media and Promotion
Consultant
Roxana helps coordinate Hispanic-related public relations
and advertising activities for Lee & Associates' clients. She has worked
through her own consulting firm and Lee & Associates on such accounts
as The Miller Brewing Company, The Gas Company, Global Physicians Support,
Frito-Lay, Mrs. Cubbison's Foods, Inc., Publispana, and CITA Institute.
Roxana previously served as Account Supervisor at Moya,
Villanueva &
Associates, where she managed and supervised accounts including La Opinion,
California Federal Bank, MoneyGram from American Express, Anheuser-Busch
Companies and Kraft Foods. In addition, she implemented the development
of symposiums and media events in various Latin American countries, such
as Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela for The Upjohn Company.
Roxana was Deputy Director of the Hispanic Communications
Division of Hill & Knowlton. At H&K, she was responsible for handling
major Hispanic events in the Midwest and coordinating the media relations
efforts for Ameritech, one of H&K's largest clients. She also coordinated
The Century Council's bilingual campaign, "Si Toma, No Maneje . . . If
You Drink, Don't Drive," The California Avocado Commission's Spanish-language
public relations campaign, and other local and national accounts. She
also planned, implemented and supervised media awareness campaigns, and
created culturally appropriate collateral materials. While at H&K, she
implemented various media relations projects for the Department of Water
and Power and the Latino Commissioners with the Mayor's office.
Roxana earned her Bachelor's degree in Public Relations
from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, where she graduated with honors.
Currently, she also hosts and is producer of "Solo Para
Mujeres," a half-hour television show that focuses on issues affecting
Hispanic women who live in the U.S. The show airs frequently on Century
Cable in Los Angeles.
In a recent, major front page Wall Street Journal feature
on her client, the California Milk Processors Board and its entry into
Hispanic media for teens, she was quoted several times as an Hispanic
media expert.
She is a member of HPRA (Hispanic Public Relations Association).
She is also fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.
HERNAN QUEZADA ESCANDON - Hispanic TV and Radio
Consultant
Hernan has been in the TV and radio industry for over
25 years, both on-air and in programming. He has been an on-air personality,
as well as program director at some of the top Spanish-language radio
stations in Los Angeles. He is currently the on-air Spanish-language
newscaster on Los Angeles' FOX-TV morning news show.
Hernan has been featured in TV and radio commercials
and has made countless personal appearances at festivals, supermarket
promotions, and other special events, as a popular Hispanic local media
celebrity.
He has been a consultant to Lee & Associates on Hispanic
promotions for over 15 years.
Not many people can claim to have as great an awareness
of the Hispanic media as Hernan, as his wife, Rosario, and all of his
five brothers and sisters, are also on-air TV and radio Spanish-language
broadcasters.
